Time to say goodbye to RagVim Communicate So it began 18 years ago when I launched RagVim and purchased our first domain, ragvim.com. The vision was clear: to create some of the most useful online services for India, built from within India itself. At that time, email was quickly becoming a necessity, but only a handful of international services—like Rediff, Yahoo, Hotmail, and Gmail (which was still in its early, invitation-only phase)—were available. I envisioned creating an Indian email and chat service as our flagship product. Thus, RagVim Communicate was born. It allowed users to easily sign up for an email address with @ragvim.com and connect with friends via chat. The early growth was exciting, and it was a proud moment when, just two years after launch, Gmail started following our Twitter account! Though I was skilled in technology, business was a whole new challenge. Despite introducing innovative features—like translated emails and chat services as early as 2012—Communicate struggled to keep up with other rapidly growing global email providers. Over the past five years, the service has primarily been maintained to support our loyal users, though over time, many of these users have gradually moved on. After much thought, I’ve made the difficult decision to shut down RagVim Communicate. This wasn’t an easy choice, and I sincerely apologize to all the users who trusted us and made Communicate their primary email service. We’re grateful for the years of support and trust you've shown, and we hope you'll continue to believe in RagVim as we focus on growing our other products and services.
